Privacy

Our journal does not gather information from users who are not registered. For those who are registered, the data we collect is part of the routine operations of a peer-reviewed journal. This includes details necessary for facilitating communication during the editorial process, compiling aggregated statistics on submissions and publications, and tracking various geopolitical and social aspects of academic communication. The editorial team uses this information to enhance the journal and its publishing practices. Data that contributes to the development of this platform may be shared with our developer, Public Knowledge Project (PKP), in an anonymized and aggregated format, with some exceptions like article metrics.

We do not sell or use this data for any purpose beyond what is outlined here.

Authors published in our journal are responsible for any human subject data included in their research. Our editorial team strives to adhere to industry standards for data privacy, including compliance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This regulation covers “data subject rights,” which include: (a) breach notification; (b) access rights; (c) the right to be forgotten; (d) data portability; and (e) privacy by design. The GDPR also recognizes “the public interest in the availability of data,” which is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the public record in scholarly publishing.
